The plastics and rubber products manufacturing industry has lost 22,000 jobs since January 2025 and more than 70,000 since October 2022, according to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics. In this “low hire, low fire” economy, companies are being cautious, holding existing staff and hiring strategically when they find the right fit for the role.
